Qualifications
With a quarterly rating of not lower than 85 in English and Filipino and no grades lower than 80 in other subjects in Grades 5 and 6
Domingo Yu Chu National High School takes pride of being the only school in the Schools Division of Oriental Mindoro offering the Special Program in Foreign Language with concentration in Spanish and the only school in the MIMAROPA region with SPFL – Chinese Mandarin. It started to implement the special program in 2010 with specialization only in Spanish and had its program expansion in 2013 when it started to offer Chinese- Mandarin. At present it has 156 students who are enrolled in the program.
The school is equipped with competent language teachers who have undergone intensive trainings in the said foreign languages through the initiative of the Department of Education, Bureau of Secondary Education, in partnership with Instituto Cervantes de Manila for Spanish and Confucius Institute at Angeles University Foundation for Chinese Mandarin.
Teachers are passers of proficiency examinations which are acknowledged internationally, DELE (Diplomas de Espanol Como Lengua Extranjera) for Spanish and HSK (Hnayu Shuiping Kaoshi) for Chinese Mandarin. Local teachers were also sent to Spain and China for their immersion program.
Aside from conducive learning centers, quality learning is ensured through interactive and diversified instruction.
The school also conducts School-based Foreign Language Festival, an annual event showcasing the skills, talents, procifiency and facility of the students under the program in Spanish and Chinese Mandarin.
